The March of Dimes has always held a very special place in my heart. I am very fortunate that both of my children were full term babies, but premature birth is something that I honestly worried about during my entire pregnancy. I had a little scare with Carson, so I think that contributed to my fears. I was our school team captain for the March of Dimes throughout my time at O.P. Earle, and I plan to continue that tradition at Lyman next year. I felt God led me to take this year off. Walk America or March for Babies has always been one of my favorite days of the year! I have walked in every single one since Carson was a baby... that was until last year. Last year, I was confined to a hospital bed unable to move my own legs by myself... much less able to walk. I was so sad on the day of the walk. It was a day I was so looking forward to. I will never forget two former students coming to visit me after the walk, and I remember the loss that I felt. God had BIG PLANS for me... plans that I couldn't even comprehend on that day. God knew that in one year I would be walking on two feet three and a half miles ALL ON MY OWN with a greater appreciation for the ability to walk.
Thank you God... Thank you for LOVING me... Thank you for HEALING me!!!
