October is a special time of year for me, Carson, Ella, and Grammy (and Papa this year, too). The second week in October is FAIR WEEK! Carson has been to the fair for several years now and has always had a great time. This year was Ella's second trip to the fair and she was especially excited. When mommy picked her up from school and reminded her that she would be going to the fair that night, she said "Hip Hip Hooray! I'm going to the fair!" When Grammy, Papa, and I picked up the kids, they were ready to go! The talk in the car was all about the food we would eat, the rides we would ride, and the quarter games we would play! When we arrived at the fair, Ella was the most excited of us all. She and Carson did not waste any time picking out what to ride first. They rode the carousel, the four-wheelers (Ella's favorite), the firetruck, the train, the Fun Slide, the haunted house, and the ferris wheel. With a break in between to meet Sarita and Phil for some fair food! We enjoyed corndogs, hotdogs, turkey leg, fried Snickers (Z's favorite), and funnel cake. Where else can you get food like that?! Finally, we wrapped up the night with many rounds at Fat Albert's, where both Carson and Ella won the prizes they had their eyes on... a Fat Albert's t-shirt for Carson and a teddy bear wearing a pink sweatshirt for Ella. Both Carson and Ella also participated in the Nick's Kid Show as part of the Village People and the back-up band! Unfortunately for us all, the night had to come to an end (because their mommy and daddy made us come home). I know Ella and Carson had a great time at the 2010 Piedmont Interstate Fair... and I had the best time I can remember at the fair too!
