One Year Later!!

Today was a very bittersweet day for me! I woke up this morning thinking about how this day one year ago was the last day I had with my precious children at O.P. Earle. As I walked out of school on that Friday afternoon, I had no idea of the plans God had for me!! I cried tears of sadness this morning when I thought back to that day in my life when my forty children had their teacher taken away from them. This afternoon God turned my sad feelings into complete happiness! I was able to look at that day in a totally different perspective. My precious children who bless my life each day surprised me with a celebration this afternoon... a celebration of LIFE! Each child had secretly written me a letter that Christine bound for me in a special scrapbook and each child painted his or her thumbprint on a special plate that will bring a smile to my face each day that I look at it. God carefully handpicked each and every child who would call me his or her teacher this year. God healed me, so that I may be the BEST teacher I could possibly be. God stretched my heart, so that I may LOVE each and every one of my angels abundantly. I don't know if I will ever forget the BLESSINGS I received today when each child joined me on that stage to read his or her letter personally to me!!!!!! Today before my eyes I was truly able to witness that "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Little Princess

Easter 2009

This is What Easter Looks Like at 5am... At Least in Our Home!

Carson made it all the way to 5 o'clock this morning to wake up and see what the Easter Bunny brought him. He was so excited to see an Easter Basket full of Bibleman action figures and a Bibleman DVD. He also loved his new devotional Bible. He was very quick to say that this was the BEST EASTER EVER. He was shivering because it was cold in the den... especially when he had on summer pajamas! He said he was shaking because he was so excited. Brian, Ella, and I weren't too awake at this time. She looked through her basket, but went straight for the gummy snacks... yes, at 5 am! Brian, Ella, and I went back to bed for a little while before church. I believe Carson stayed up, watched his new Bibleman DVD, and played with his Bibleman action figures!!! He also completed the survey sections in the front of his Bible.

Eggcited Over The Dye!

Tonight we traveled to Grammy and Papa's house to dye eggs. For some reason, I just don't get into dying eggs at Easter, so Grammy always makes sure the children get to dye them at her house. I cannot believe how excited Ella was about dying eggs. She was beside herself. Carson was super excited to pull an egg out of the dye and see Ella's name written on it. He then looked for one with his name on it. Grammy used one of the crayons to surprise them. I actually enjoyed watching the excitement, and I am so thankful they have a crafty Grammy!!

Easter Egg Hunt at LifeSong!

On Saturday, Ella, Carson, and I journeyed to LifeSong for their Easter Egg Hunt. An airplane flew overhead and dropped "golden" eggs out for the children to find. Ella didn't quite know what to do at first, but as soon as she knew she could put eggs in her basket, she was set! Carson and Alaina looked for eggs together while Ella and I stayed in the preschool section. We had a great time! We are very fortunate to have many friends at LifeSong!!!!!!
