For months, we prepared for our BIG summer vacation. We decided to take Carson and Ella on a Disney cruise. This would be the first cruise for any of us! After going through a travel agent, arranging flight and shuttle arrangements, having excited children for months, and packing us all up one day before departure... we were set. On Thursday, July 29 we spent the night in Charlotte, so we would not have to get up so early on Friday morning to get to the airport in Charlotte for our early flight. The hotel package was perfect. They provided a great early morning breakfast and shuttled us to the airport. We were able to leave our van at the airport for the week free of charge. That sure beats having to park at the airport.
Not only would this be Carson and Ella's first cruise, it would also be their first flight. They were SO excited. Carson got really nervous the closer and closer we got through the airport. Once onboard, they were both fine. They LOVED flying, and I LOVED entertaining two kids for one hour and twenty minutes. Our transportation service was waiting for us as soon as we made it through claims. We had an approximate thirty minute drive to Port Canavaral where the Disney Wonder was awaiting to begin our MAGICAL adventure!
In an attempt to try to document the "magical" moments of our time with Mickey at sea, I am going to "list" all of our fondest memories!!
Onboard...
- Went through a million lines before making it on the ship
- Was welcomed with a loud, "Welcome Cassidy Family!" by the crew
- Went straight to Parrot Cay for a buffet lunch
- Walked down to the second floor where our room awaited
- Watched the kids enjoy the ocean view from the porthole in the room
- Participated in a mandatory evacuation drill
- Received our dinner tickets for 5:45 each night
- Briefly attended the "Off to Sea" party
- Changed into our "dress clothes" for dinner
- Enjoyed our first dinner at Animator restaurant
- Met our first Disney characters
- Enjoyed The Golden Mickeys
- CRASHED out!

I know that ya"ll had a terrific time, we missed ya''ll everyday and know that the kids enjoyed their trip....now they are worldly by being able to fly and go on a cruise.....next time Grammy and Aunt Z want to go too.............
Oh, I am trying not to be extremely jealous! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time. I can't wait to see more pics! Hope you have a great start to your school year. :) Lana
