2010 ADVENTures: Day 7

We had a great time writing letters to Santa.  Carson did a great job writing his all by himself.  I had to translate Ella's for her.  I was super proud of the way her Santa and Elf looked just from me spelling the two aloud for her!  I hope Santa can come through on their lists!  They change every single time! Poor guy is probably soooo confused!! :)

2010 ADVENTures: Day 6

Tonight was our typical manic Monday with basketball practice and dance, so for our ADVENTure tonight, we read Christmas books by the tree.  We all took turns reading books about Christmas.  I loved hearing all that Ella and Carson know about Jesus' birth!!

2010 ADVENTures: Day 5

Tonight's ADVENTure took us to our last Awana class before the new year.  Carson worked SO hard to finish his first Spark Handbook before the holidays, so he could work on a new one over Christmas break.  He had to say about eight verses tonight to earn his last three jewels.  I was so excited to walk in the gym during the award ceremony to see him receive his last three jewels and new book.  I am so proud of Carson!!  I can't wait to see what he accomplishes next.

2010 ADVENTures: Day 4

I have to say this ADVENTure was GREAT!  My dear friend Martha gave me this idea after we were crafting ornaments for Keegan.  She thought it would be cute for the kids to make Silly Band ornaments.  Carson and Ella LOVED it.  I can't wait to hang these ornaments for years and to think back to the GREAT Silly Band fad!

2010 ADVENTures: Day 3

For Day 3, we journeyed to Light Up Inman.  I absolutely LOVE the fake snow and the Santa at this event.  The children had a great time until Ella became super crabby!  We celebrated our great time in Inman with FREE Boberry biscuits.  Don't think I will be getting Mom of the Year with feeding them sugary biscuits for dinner, but it was a fun Friday night.

2010 ADVENTures: Day Two

I had a busy night with Keegan's shower, so our Advent activity had to be one that was a little shorter and didn't require as much help from me.  Car and Roo were able to pick out a Christmas picture to color.  Carson picked a Santa picture, and Ella chose a Hello Kitty picture.  Carson's coloring sure has improved tremendously since those dreaded 3K days.  Ella completely blew us away with her coloring.  This was the first time she has EVER colored in the lines.  Normally, we get the same scribble scrabble Carson gave us at the same age.  She gave all the credit to Ms. Joyce.  Our new Christmas pictures are hanging on the mantle for all to enjoy.

Ella's First Field Trip

Today Ella went on her first field trip.  She was so excited about being able to ride in a bus.  Her class journeyed to Chapman High School to make gingerbread houses.  I remember the same excitement Carson had when Ms. Cathy took them to Chapman.  Where has the time gone?  Ella is so proud of her gingerbread house!!

2010 ADVENTures: Day 1

For the past several years, I have added a new tradition to our family during the Christmas season.  Last year, we invited Zoby, our elf, to live with us from Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve.  This year, I decided to celebrate Advent with the children.  I have 25 FUN family activities planned for us.  I asked Carson to help me plan the activities, but he declined.  He wants each day to be a surprise.

For December 1,  Carson and Ella both painted cross ornaments for our tree.  They picked out their own colors and really seemed to enjoy painting.  I cannot wait until they dry, so we can add them to our tree.
